Grechetto
A medium productive grape variety for white wine that rarely suffers from the disease peronospera (mildew). Grechetto is mostly used in a blend for Orvieto or Vin Santo. One can taste and smell mainly nuts in the wines that are used to add body and character to the final blend.

Trio Vintners is the collaboration of three winemakers, all recent graduates of the Enology and Viticulture program at Walla Walla Community College. Tim, Denise and Steve are pooling their talents and ideas to produce delicious wines from Eastern Washington, a region with perfect conditions for premium grape growing. At their winery in Walla Walla, fruit is selected to express the personality of the grape variety and the special character provided by the climate and soils of this unique growing region. Trio Vintner’s 2004 Boushey Vineyard Syrah, 2006 Columbia Valley Riesling and 2006 Rosé will be released in the Spring of 2007. Tim Boushey has over 20 years combined experience in home winemaking and at commercial winery settings such as Long Shadows and Bergevin Lane. Denise Slattery brings talents in marketing and communications and Steve Michener, long-time aficionado, writer and student of wine, trades in his 'barn' winemaking experience for the real deal. This is our first year of operation and we are very excited to apply what we have learned. We like the challenges of working with lesser-known varietals and plan small-lot releases that allow us to explore and evolve as winemakers. We love to seek out great vineyards, create alluring and inviting wine and share the experience with you at our tasting room. Cheers! Salud! Sante! Tim Boushey, Denise Slattery and Steve Michener.
