For our old friends, we hope you enjoy visiting our site and keeping in touch with the latest from Wintergreen Winery. Our philosophy at Wintergreen Winery is simple...wine is and should be FUN! Yes, we are serious about winemaking, vineyard care and business practices, but we try not to lose sight of our real passion...the essence of enjoying wine. Things like great food, family and friends, sunsets, roaring fires, laughter, music and dancing. Wine is an integral part of our lives, both momentous occasions and everyday rituals. Wine begs to be shared and we would like to share with you some of the joy that wine has given us. Hours: April through October: Daily 10am - 6pm, November through March: Daily 10am - 5pm.

  BLACK ROCK CHARDONNAY - Reserve
Here's to another great vintage of our acclaimed BRCR! This wine is barrel fermented to impart rich but subtle toasty oak. Ripe apple and pear notes are nicely integrated with hints of vanilla and almond. This refined and focused wine showcases the vintage with balanced acidity and a smooth finish. Serve slightly chilled.
  BLACK ROCK CHARDONNAY
Aged 12 months in French and American oak, this wine displays bright citrus notes of pineapple and lime with a touch of Granny Smith apple and butterscotch. Lemony citrus aromas mingle with oak reminiscent of hot buttered popcorn. Nice long finish with a just a hint of mineral. Serve slightly chilled.
  BLACK ROCK RED RESERVE
Our eagerly anticipated newest addition to the Black Rock series is a full bodied blend of the classic Bordeaux varieties: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Petit Verdot
  BRENT'S MOUNTAIN MERLOT
An artisanal Merlot to make you forget those homogenized and mass produced Merlots with no character! Excellent 2005 vintage spent 18 patient months in oak to yield a lush and silky star. Balance of oak and fruit imparts a nice toastiness but a decidedly fruit forward wine. Garnet colored and drenched with red berry aromas and taste, this medium to full bodied wine finishes long with a nice touch of cocoa.
  CABERNET FRANC
Pretty ruby color with long, lovely legs. Aged 31 months in American (mostly Virginia) oak. 2002's drought conditions of dry, sunny and hot days entrenched this perfectly ripened vintage with intense fruit and deep color. A lush and velvety wine with ambrosial black cherry and rose notes integrated with sweet wood. Finishes with a lingering luster of pomegranate and spice. A showcase of classic Cabernet Franc nuances which exemplifies why this is Virginia's signature vinifera red varietal. Our favorite Cab Franc to date!
  CABERNET FRANC -
Liked our 2002 Cab Franc? Wait until you try our latest release! Deep ruby color with long, lovely legs. 77% Cabernet Franc and 23% Merlot aged 12 months in American and Virginia oak. Wide open fruity nose is integrated with vanilla and briar. A full bodied and velvety wine with lush plum and dark fruit notes. Lingering finish of bright ripe cherry punctuated with spice. Wow!
  CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Cassis and spice. Aged 12 months in French and American oak. Velvety and full bodies with a peppery finish. Classic pairing with beef. Also nice with game and lamb dishes.
  CHARDONNAY - MONTICELLO
Stainless steel fermented cool to produce a dry, crisp wine with distinct tropical and citrus nuances. Well-balanced with very pleasing acidity. Pairs well with grilled poultry or fish and pasta with light sauces. Serve slightly chilled.
  MILL HILL APPLE
Golden Delicious and Wine sap apples. Semisweet with slight tartness. Serve very well chilled with smoked fish, barbecued pork & spicy foods.
  RASPBERRY
Always a customer favorite, now the secret's out... DOUBLE GOLD International Medal Winner! True decadence is this dessert-style fruit wine with bold, fresh Raspberry taste. Serve chilled alone or for a treat with chocolate, fresh fruit, cheesecake, or French vanilla ice cream. Great gift paired with our Belgian Chocolate bars.
  RIESLING
Fruity and floral with a spicy finish. Healthy acidity really jazzes up the palate. Wonderful accompaniment to spicy food, seafood or cheese with bread & fruit. Serve chilled.
  THOMAS NELSON WHITE
One of our most popular summer time wines is finally available again!Delicate and floral with lively fruit, this wine exhibits the softer side of Riesling. Great with pork, seafood, & spicy foods. Serve well chilled.
  THREE RIDGES WHITE
Chablis style blend of Seyval, Vidal and barrel-fermented Chardonnay. Nice with pasta, poultry & seafood, or try it with a loaf of crusty bread, cheese and fruit. (We like it all by itself, too!) Serve well chilled.
  VIOGNIER
This wonderfully aromatic varietal is known for its ability to seduce one's senses. Here its inviting perfume of honeysuckle and apricot leads to an abundantly fruity palate of white peach, pear and pineapple. Crafted in stainless steel tanks, this dry medium-bodied wine with polished acidity is a joy to pair with richer buttery shellfish and poultry dishes with cream sauces. Great accompaniment for chevre and triple creme cheeses. Serve chilled.
