Kékfrankos
From the South Balatan region of Hungary, this fruity red wine is made from the Kék frankos varietal, which is a Gamay type clone used in the famous 'Bulls Blood' (Egri Bikaver). It is widely grown throught southern and central Europe where is known by over forty different names, including Limberger in Germany and Blaufränkisch in Austria.

Four Winds Vineyard is nestled on a hillside over-looking the Platte River Valley. FWV is a family owned and operated winery and was establised in 2001 by Ed and Teresa Kresak. They both grew up in the area and have always enjoyed the view from the vineyard site. The Kresaks had been looking for a way to diversify their farming operation and in the Spring of 2001 discovered Nebraska's growing wine industry and decided that it was what they had been looking for. Since then a lot of hard work and time has been spent making their new venture happen. After two and a half years the Kresak's had there first crush in September of 2003 and have made their first vintage. The Kresaks were proud to open their doors to the public in February 2004. Four Winds Vineyard is a full scale winery, overseeing the growing of grapes, to the production and sale of their wines. Four Winds Vineyard's tasting room is a nice place to come relax, enjoy the views and to try our wines. Our wine tasting room features a wide variety of wines including tradional style white and red wines, many different fruit wines and a Mead wine. Also while visiting, you can pick up a gift for yourself or someone special in our gift shop features wine accessories, gift baskets, candles, handmade crafts, imported licorice, chocolate covered coffee beans, t-shirts and much more. Four Winds Vineyard also offers tours of the vineyard and winery, and is also a place you can schedule to have a special event or hold a meeting.
