Tomahawk Mill Winery

Tomahawk Mill Winery In 1888, a few miles from Chatham, Virginia, James Anderson opened his Tomahawk Creek grist mill to serve local farmers. One hundred years later, the mill was closed, and the first grapes were planted on the hill above the mill pond. You are invited to come taste the eleven wines we now produce here and tour the vineyard and mill. We are open for touring and tasting March 15th through December 15th, Tuesday through Saturday, from 11:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.

From Route 29 Business in Chatham: Route 57 West for 4.5 miles, right on Route 799 (Climax Road) for 3.4 miles, left on Route 649 (Anderson Mill Road) for 3 miles to winery on left. From Route 40 East: Right on Route 799 (Climax Road) for 7.3 miles, right on Route 649 (Anderson Mill Road) for 3 miles to winery on left.

Pinot Noir is a French varietal grape that produces a wine with a cherry fruit flavor. It is made from estate grown grapes that pair well with veal or beef dishes.
  Sergeant Anderson's Red
A dry red wine with a pleasant bouquet that is both well balanced and full bodied. This wine is named for the builder of the grist mill where the winery is located.
  Sweet Concord
This is a masterful blend of concord grapes to make a delightful sipping wine. It is a light, refreshing aromatic addition to any afternoon or evening.
  Tobacco Road Blues
A proprietary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Chambourcin to make a smooth red dry wine.
  Vidal Blanc
This off dry wine has a hint of pear with a soft finish.
