Description:
Pinot Noir, a grape variety from Burgundy which requires cool growing conditions, is known as the hardest grape to grow and is also the most challenging wine to make. In 2003 we picked our first 2.5 tons of perfectly ripened grapes and fermented them in small lots with 3 different yeasts. After fermentation the lots were pressed into new and one-year-old French oak barrels and aged for 12 months. A very seductive and classic example of why Pinot Noir is such a great wine to drink. Loads of wild berries, herbs and rose petals combined with light toasty vanilla and spice from the French oak barrels make a great debut for our first Pinot Noir.
