Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc Wine Details
Price: $12.50 per bottle

Description: With the release of our 2004 vintage, Husch celebrates 25 years of crafting award-winning Sauvignon Blanc. The tradition began back in 1980, when the first Sauvignon Blanc crop from La Ribera was harvested. The resulting wine - only about 200 cases - was an instant success. A tradition was born and the loyal following for Husch Sauvignon Blanc has continued to grow over the years. Near half of our Sauvignon Blanc is barrel fermented, and 25% of the final blend is aged for five months in neutral oak. The balance is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks. This mixed approach gives the wine a soft mouthfeel while maintaining the vibrant and crisp character of the varietal. The 2004 harvest was one of the earliest on record, and our Sauvignon Blanc shows the beautiful acidity that resulted. Aromas of lemongrass, lime, melon and fresh mint are evident on the nose. The racy acidity complements the lemon custard, fresh grass and fennel notes on the palate. Well balanced, this wine shows well-integrated fruit and acidity with a dry, crisp finish.
