Pali Wine Company

Pali Wine Company Pali Wine Company is owned by a group of friends and coworkers. We are: Tim and Judy Perr, Scott and Janice Knight, John and Julie Plaa, Charlie and Kim Lenz, Dee Dee and Troy Mays, Diane Karis, Terri Cohen, Rob Berg, Dean and Pearl Ferdico, Ines Piquet, Addy Anggelico and Don Hill, Elissia and Don Villanueva, and Julie Russell. Pali is the culmination of a love for great wine, great people and great times. Our company was founded by dedicated folks with something in common – a determined desire for excellence and a love of the good life without any pretense or stuffiness. Luckily, while we love the good life, we don’t insist upon the glamorous life. Winemaking is rewarding, invigorating, creative and many other things, however, winemaking is not glamorous!

Bluffs Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, California
The second of the two Pali AVA blends, this is a very pretty and balanced wine easily associated with the Russian River Valley. Deep red cherries, lavender, rose pedals and herbs on the nose. Juicy, rounded mouth feel. A bit tight now but should open up nicely by release.
Boer Family Vineyard Pinot Noir, Chalone, California
This is yet another ripe and concentrated wine for Pali and a big favorite during barrel tastings. Red raspberries, pomegranates and anise greet the nose. Rich and deep on the palate with complex flavors of juicy black cherries, huckleberries and earthy tannins. Very easy to like.
Cargasacchi Jalama Vineyard Pinot Noir, Santa Barbara County, California
The best Cargasacchi Jalama Vineyard Pinot I've tasted so far. Brambly ripe red cherries, raspberries, lavender and pomegranate up front. Medium weight, great depth with red fruits and minerals layered on a structure of rich tannins and a hint of toasty oak. Crisp acid adds to a big finish.
Durell Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast, California
Easily the darkest and ripest of the Pali Pinot line up, this will be a crowd pleaser. Aromas of dark, caramelized, ripe black fruit, blood orange with a hint of cracked pepper. A lush mouth feel of sweet plums and deep dark blackberries. Very concentrated with depth built on a frame of moderate tannin and acid.
Fiddlestix Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills, California
The 2007 Fiddlestix is all about structure and balance. Nose of polished red fruits, iron, meat and Christmas spice. Understated dark fruit on the palate along with forest floor spices and sweet oak. Juicy, bright acidity leads to a long finish.
Shea Vineyard Chardonnay, Willamette Valley, Oregon
Not your typical Chardonnay here. Lemon custard, white peach, honeysuckle and wet stones on the nose. Restrained leechee nut, melon, minerality and subtle toasty oak lead into a round mouth feel. Penetrating finish with bright acidity and moderate sweet tannins.
Thorn Ridge Ranch Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, California
Pali's second most ripe, dark and concentrated Pinot in 2007 line up after Durell. On the nose, deep ripe dark fruits, lifted sweet cherry blossoms, black plums, raspberries with a pretty minerality. Rich and thick, viscous, mouth-coating, sweet dark fruits with mineral and spice adding to the complexity. Solid back bone of acid and tannin. Guaranteed to be another favorite in this line up.
