Today, that dream is a reality, and we proudly invite you to share in the vision of these dynamic and innovative monks. Our tasting room has been disighned to make your wine experience truly memorable. Visit us in the spring and summer and enjoy our beautiful outdoor garden setting while viewing thriving vineyards growing against the majestic backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. In the winter, warm your hands by the toasty fireplace while sipping a rich full-bodiedMerlot. Your shopping experience in the tasting room will include rich, colorful textiles from Provence, exquisite crystal from Italy and the newest and most up to date wine accessories.   Cabernet Sauvignon
This is the first Colorado Cabernet Sauvignon produced by The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Whitewater Hill Vineyards, harvested in October of 2003. A big, dark rich wine loaded with berry fruit and hints of cocoa and cassis. Enjoy with beef, pork, wild game, ragout with winter fruit and rich red sauces.
  Chardonnay
Our Chardonnay has been 100% barrel fermented and aged in American & French oak. Buttery, yet light and crisp, with distinct citrus and apricot flavors. Great with smoked cheeses, roasted meats, seafood, chicken and appetizers.
  Colorado Cabernet Franc
The 2003 Colorado Cabernet Franc is a real favorite of Winemaker Matt Cookon’s. The cabernet franc grapes were harvested from Grande River Vineyards in Palisade, Colorado in September 2003. Hints of oak, roses and red plum in the nose, followed by soft tannin and berry flavors in the mouth, this wine will cellar for up to three years. Only 78 cases were produced.
  Colorado Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
Harvested in September 2003. Grown by Whitewater Hill Vineyards in Grand Junction. Aged in new 100% American oak barrels. Bold and rich with a big toasty oak nose. Black olive, espresso and currant flavors with a smooth velvety finish.
  Colorado Merlot
Merlot is our signature red wine. Stainless steel fermented and barrel aged in American & French oak. Bright, bold cherry flavors with hints of blackberry and plum, with a toasty oak finish. This wine is a superb example of the Colorado Merlots. Rich and full-bodied for your sipping pleasure this wine is excellent with roasted meats and fabulous with any chocolate dessert
  Colorado Merlot Port
The ultimate in after-dinner wines, our 2002 Colorado Merlot Port truly exemplifies the fine fruit quality of the merlot grape. It is a smooth silky wine, loaded with rich black cherry fruit and a chocolate finish. This wine is "Simply Awesome" says winemaker Matt Cookson.
  N/V Colorado Nouveau
This fun new wine was made primarily from 100% Colorado Merlot. It's a big, ripe grapey wine that can be served chilled or at room temperature. Slightly reminiscent of a sangria or spumonti, this wine is delicious with Mexican, Spanish, Italian and Greek foods, as well as many others.
  Riesling
Our Riesling has been made in the true German style. It's fruity tartness and refreshing crisp finish make it a must for your holiday turkey, ham or goose.
