Mountain & Vine Vineyards And Winery Mountain & Vine Vineyards and Winery, formerly Delfosse Vineyards and Winery was established in 2000 in the Monticello AVA wine region. The location is exquisite, hugged between the hills, but with the elevation to guarantee not only flavorful wine but also breathtaking views. A brief thirty-minute drive from Charlottesville will lead you to our scenic location where you can experience the solitude of the Virginia countryside. We offer a variety of activities for your enjoyment. Enjoy the beauty of the vineyard, one of the only terraced vineyards in the state. Taste our unique variety of wines, ranging from Merlot to Petit Manseng. Bring the family, kids and dogs, and enjoy a calm picnic lunch by the lake. Take a day trip or make it a weekend getaway stay at our historic log cabin or beautiful farmhouse.

Directions
Take Route 29 South toward Lovingston for approximately 20 miles. Turn right on Route 616 (Hickory Creek Rd) and continue for 2.3 miles. Turn right on Route 634 (Old Roberts Mountain Rd) and follow O.8 miles to winery entrance on left.

  Ambrosia
100% Viognier, 15% Residual Sugar. This wine exhibits a wonderful balance of acidity and sweetness to balance the wine. Multiple layers of flavors on the palate with apricot, peach and mango notes backed by a touch of oak and sweetness.
  Cabernet Franc
This great Cabernet Franc exhibits bright cherry and plum aromas. Taste – This heavily extracted wine has bright red fruit with firm tannins and great depth.
  Chardonnay
80% Chardonnay, 20% Viognier. Aged 7 months in French oak barrels. The fresh fruit is pleasantly enhanced by a balanced amount of French Oak that shows some butteriness.
  Chardonnay
95% Chardonnay, 5% Viognier. Aged 9 months in French oak barrels. Bottled in May 2007. Released in June 2007. Nose – A fresh and crisp combination of pear notes, backed up by a hint of toasted oak and slight butterscotch on the finish. Taste – The fresh fruit exhibits a good balance and structure. The oak is gentle and complements the fruit. The finish is crisp.Food Pairing – This wine shows classic Chardonnay character and will pair well with poultry or fish.
  Chardonnay Reserve
100% Chardonnay from our own vineyards, aged 11 months in French oak barrels. This well integrated wine has ample richness with bright citrus backed by soft oak. Great balance and structure give this wine, very nice length and finish.
  Chardonnay Reserve
100% Chardonnay. Aged 11 months in French oak. Very intense apple and pear flavors with an oak foundation that blends nicely with the fruit. A big structure and mouth feel will allow this wine to mature nicely for several years.
  Cuvee Laurent
45% Chambourcin, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot and 10% Cabernet Franc, aged 10 months in French oak barrels. A well balanced wine with strawberry tart notes and soft tannins.
  Deer Rock Farm
A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chambourcin. Aged 10 months in French oak barrels. This rich concentrated red wines has notes of currents, soft tannins and slight oak with a rich structure.
  Deer Rock White
A blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Sauvignon Blanc. Aged 10 months in neutral French oak barrels. Bottled in April 2007. Released in May 2007. Nose – Nice hints of pear and citrus are backed by a touch of oak. Taste –A very rich and round style on the palate is balanced by crisp acidity and a nice touch of oak.. It has 2% residual sugar. "Food Pairing – A ready to drink style, perfect for summer fare. Great for white cream sauces on fish and pasta.
  Grand Cru Olivier
65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc and Touriga, 5% Petit Verdot, aged 10 months in French oak barrels. Silky wine with slight toast and currents.
  Meritage
Aromas of rich oak, toast and spice. Raspberry and earth dominate the palate with firm tannins and nice structure. This wine has extraordinary class, depth and strength to age well over time. 45% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Franc, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon
  Merlot
Very rich and concentrated wine with ripe currants and cherry flavors backed by supple tannins that add structure and provide great integration between the oak, the tannins, the fruit and the alcohol. This wine will age gracefully for the next five to seven years.
  Merlot
Very rich and concentrated with a balance of deep red fruits and good ripe tannins. Blackberries and currants are backed by rich oak with flavors that round out the finish. This wine will age gracefully for the next five to ten years.
  Petit Verdot
Aromas of blackberry, vanilla and a hint of violets with a touch of toast. Taste – This full bodied wine carries firm but mature tannins with pleasing flavors of berries and plum. The oak aging adds a slight toast and vanilla nuance, but does not over power. The depth, structure and acid balance, proves that this is a unique variety for Virginia and is capable of long term aging. Food Pairing – A great match for heavier meats as well as game. This wine will age well. It can be enjoyed now and over the next five years.
  Pinot Gris
100% Pinot Gris. Aged 7 months in neutral French oak barrels. Bottled in March 2007. Released in April 2007. Nose – A very rich aroma of spice and minerals with a touch of melon. Taste – A deep concentrated structure with a touch of creaminess and a richer style of Pinot Gris that highlights the excellent quality of the 2006 vintage. Food Pairing – Aged in neutral oak, this Pinot Gris is a light crisp summer wine. Drink cold with your favorite appetizer, shellfish or picnic. A great match for seafood and lighter fare.
  Reserve d'Oriane
38% Chardonnay, 38% Sauvignon Blanc, 12% Viognier, 12% Petit Manseng. Aged in a combination of French oak (Chardonnay), neutral oak (Sauvignon Blanc) and stainless steel. This complex blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc with a touch of Viognier and Petit Manseng shows bright acidity with rich citrus and soft oak. This elegant, well balanced wine exhibits a long finish with a bouquet of pineapple, peach, coconut and apricot.
  Reserve d'Oriane
38% Chardonnay, 38% Sauvignon Blanc, 12% Viognier, 12% Petit Manseng. Aged in a combination of French oak (Chardonnay), neutral oak (Sauvignon Blanc) and stainless steel Bottled in March 2007. Released in May 2007 Nose – Clean, intensely aromatic. An original blend with lively citrus notes and a hint of pineapple. Taste –A very rich and fruity style highlights the different elements in this blend with a nice touch of oak on the finish to make this wine a very distinguished blend. Food Pairing – Great with seafood and shellfish. This wine is very food friendly and will also pair well with lobster and poultry in richer and creamier sauces, with turkey and with pork dishes.
  Rosé
65% Cabernet Franc, 30% Merlot, 5% Chambourcin. Aged in stainless steel tanks. Traditional dry crisp rose made primarily from a blend a Bordeaux varietals shows nice flavors of strawberry and cherry.
  Rosé
65% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot. Aged in stainless steel tanks. Bottled in March 2007. Released in May 2007. Nose – Lovely strawberry and watermelon aromas. Taste –A very dry style with a lot of texture and freshness. A true dry rosé with a very refreshing finish. Food Pairing – Great with cheese and fruit, as well as picnics and hamburgers.
  Viognier
100% Viognier. Aged in stainless steel tanks. Bottled in March 2007. Released in May 2007 Nose – Clean, intensely aromatic, fresh Viognier crafted in stainless steel tanks to highlight its varietal character. Lovely and elegant floral notes as well as pear and peach aromas. Taste –A very soft and balanced style with clean Viognier flavors, the nice acidity highlights the fresh fruit and crispness. Food Pairing – Great for shellfish and goat cheese, as well as many seafood dishes.
  Viognier Reserve
100% Viognier. Aged in stainless steel tanks. Bottled in March 2007. Released in May 2007 Nose – Absolutely intense tropical notes of grapefruit and peach. Taste –This wine has some of the most concentrated flavors that can only come from a great vintage. Pineapple and peach are backed up by great acidity and an incredible finish. Food Pairing – Ideal for richer seafood and poultry.
