Abingdon Vineyard is not near the core center of Virginia wineries, but in the far west stretch of I-81 in a delightful town which offers tourist surprises. And one of the best surprises is this family operated winery. What a nice cross section of good white and red wines, including their Norton and Norton blend wines. I've rated their wines a bit higher than I normally rate wines in general, but I rationalize this by comparing these wines against what can be found in other Virginia vineyards. Unlike most other east coast wineries, I look forward to having an excuse in returning to this location.
