Black Ankle Vineyards At Black Ankle Vineyards, we believe that the beautiful rolling hills of Maryland are perfectly suited to yield wines of great complexity, subtlety and nuance - wines that can compare favorably with the finest Europe has to offer. We believe that a truly great wine comes only from a truly great vineyard, and we are confident that our mix of soils, climate, grape varieties, viticulture, personal commitment, and a bit of magic will be the right formula. We are committed to coaxing memorable wines from our little piece of earth.

  Chardonnay
A ripe, classically built Chardonnay with hints of lemon and pear on the nose. A full body reveals a smooth wine with excellent weight on the palate and a long, minerally finish.
  Cosecha
The 2006 Cosecha is a medium-bodied, ruby-colored wine with hints of raspberries and red currants on the nose. On the palate, the wine shows notes of leather, minerals, and vanilla which complement its smooth tannins.
  Crumbling Rock
The deep ruby color of the 2006 Crumbling Rock is accompanied by a sweet, complex nose of intense black fruits, crushed rocks, graphite, dried mushrooms and a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied and viscous on the palate, the wine shows plush tannins balanced with an acidic backbone and a rich mouthfeel. This well structured wine is built to improve for many years in the bottle. Named top wine in the Maryland Governor's Cup Competition
