Ferrante Winery

Ferrante Winery The Ferrante family has been selling wine since 1937 when Anna and Nicholas Ferrante opened their first winery in Cleveland's Collinwood area. In the 1970s, sons Peter and Anthony built state-of-the-art winemaking facilities in the family's Harpersfield Township vineyards. And, in the 1980s, their families opened a thriving restaurant to showcase wine with food. Then, in November 1994, a fire destroyed the restaurant. Fortunately, a firewall saved the wine production, cellar and warehouse. In 1995, the Ferrante family pulled together in body and spirit to rebuild their dream... the new Ferrante Winery and Ristorante.

Toni says...
Worst dinning experience ever! I live in Florida and come home once a year. I've been here several times in the past but will never come again!!!! We arrived at the end of lunch service and I was told that I could only order lunch if the entire party of 5 ordered lunch as well, so we ordered dinner. The dinning room only had 4 other parties, but yet the service was very slow. As we were deciding on our entrees, we ordered two appetizers. Afterwards we ordered our entrees and I decided to get one of the specials. When our appetizers arrived, they were wrong. When our salads arrived, they were quite disappointing. Finally after waiting over an hour for our meals, we asked our server about our meals. She arrived several minutes later with our food. All our entrees were cold, the chicken was pink in the middle, the red skin potatoes were brown, the sauce on the veal was congealed, my fish was dry. We were told by the owner that they were behind in the kitchen and the sauce for the special was not prepared. Excuse me? If you offer a special, the sauce should have been made and the dinning room was nearly empty when we arrived. I pointed out that those dishes should have never left the kitchen, the owner continued to give excuses but never acknowledged the poor quality of the food. Since we didn't eat out dinners, we assumed we'd only have to pay for the appetizers, WRONG!!! She charged us $50. I'll never come again!!!!
