Corey Ippolito Winery

Corey Ippolito Winery AMERICA, the land of freedom and a place to make a better life. That was the inspiration for a very young boy from Sonnino, Italy. Alone, he crossed the ocean by ship, and alone, he went through Ellis Island. He settled in Syracuse, New York. A few years later, he met and fell in love with a pretty girl also from Italy. They married, had 6 children and many grandchildren. As one of those grandchildren, this story was the inspiration to establish the Corey Ippolito Vineyard in 1999, in the rolling hills of Blountville, Tennessee. Going back to the way of life of our ancestors. Making a better life, using the earth and our hands. Come, visit our vineyard and spend the night in our Italian Bed and Breakfast. As you drive up the winding road, the Italian sensation starts, and continues as you settle into the Venice or Roman room. Take your drink, sit on the front porch or stroll through the vineyard. Enjoy the never-ending cookies and pastries. Relax and unwind.

Norton Wine Review: As we traveled down I-81 passing through the eastern tip of Tennessee, we encountered Corey Ippolito Winery in Blountville, TN. Obviously their “Cynthiana” (Norton) vines were too young and there was a rush to produce an Italian styled, food friendly, Norton wine. The best I can say for this tasting is to turn north traveling 25 miles and see what a Norton table wine can taste like at Abingdon Winery in Abingdon, VA.
