We started brewing in 2018 as a hobby because we both enjoyed craft beer. It all started home-brewing in glass carboys and 5-gallon water coolers in our garage all while starting a family of 5 and both working in our community. Zak focused on brewing while Kristen started designing our logo and labels along with some awesome stickers! We then expanded our brew system with help from Zak’s cousin Pete “PJ” Conte, the new owner of Detroit Beach Pizzeria. We brewed when we could and we just drank the different types of beer we created. We even went as far as growing our own hops in our backyard with huge poles, all while the neighbors wondered what in the world was growing from 20-foot poles. Then, we started sharing our beer with friends, family, and neighbors. We got awesome feedback, and it just got us thinking that maybe we could make this hobby something more.
